Emerging Clinical Researchers (ECR) Mentorship Programme

We all understand the importance of human connection. No matter the stage of career, each of our members prides themselves on the hard work and dedication that they have bestowed on their discipline as they pursue the furtherance of medical knowledge in aid of patients worldwide. Each discipline of the medical and research field plays a vital part in progress and in order to create tangible results for patients, we must work together

At AoPGBI, we are the connection between these incredible interdisciplinary physicians.

Our aim is for our mentorship programme to prove invaluable support for ECRs, providing post-doctoral career development opportunities through exclusive one-to-one support. In this programme, we offer the dedicated support from an approved AoP member, selected with your career in mind.

Expectations of participants:

For the relationship to thrive, both parties are to be engaged and committed. While deeply supportive, this is to be an informal relationship.

The mentee will:

  • Be proactive
  • Come with specific questions for each session

The mentor will:

  • Actively listen
  • Ask questions and make suggestions
  • Be understanding of any concerns the mentee may have
  • Ensure the mentee’s agenda is followed
  • Try to offer support based on current realities for more junior staff

Meetings: We recommend that both parties commit to meet at least once every six months.
